WE-Entrance and Exit to the World
Themed around a future 50 years from now, has been significantly altered musically since it was first performed two years ago as “Two E”(2022), with the addition of a set design by Wataru Yamakami, creating a piece that evokes hope amidst a decaying world.
This work is part of the TOKYO MAZE series, which has run in parallel with the Phoenix Project that began in 2022.
Directed by Hiroshi Koike, it serves as an experimental platform for exploring diverse methods of expression through film, music, and performance.

When you spread out the map, there is an entrance beckoning from the hidden side of TOKYO... This work, which closed last year to a full house, will be revived for three performances only.
Live footage, films, objects, movement, dance, overlapping voices, and sounds from junk intertwine…
This is a stage as a trans device!
At an exquisite timing, pause, and rhythm, I found myself in a trance state, my soul shaken by the worldview born from the stage of dreams and reality. My experiences echoed like a lantern in the Sanzu River, and the stage’s worldview synchronized with my life view, making me feel as though I was experiencing both reality and the afterlife. Perhaps this will come to me in a dream tonight. It was a wonderful piece that stirred my soul for the first time in a long while. (Monchi Tanaka / Sound Producer)
